Who we are
Brickbit is a game made by Nathan Partch, an individual developer based in the United States. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Nathan Partch.
What the game stores on your device
Your progress (coins, stars, levels, best scores, unlocked skins, songs and scenes, a saved Endless game, and your settings) is saved in your browser or app storage on your own device. It stays there until you delete the app or clear its data.
Transfer codes
If you tap Get a code in Settings, the game sends a copy of your game progress to our server and gives you a code, so you can load your progress on another device.
- What's stored: your game progress (the same things listed above) and the game version. Nothing that identifies you: no name, email, phone number, device id or location.
- Where: on Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare Workers KV), which host the game.
- How long: 7 days. After that it's deleted automatically and the code stops working.
- Anyone who has the code can load that progress during those 7 days, so only share it with yourself.
Cloudflare, as our host, handles the network connection (including your IP address) to deliver the game and the transfer code. We don't store or use your IP address.
Leaderboards
When an Endless or Speed Run game ends, the game sends your score to the leaderboards so it can show your rank.
- What's stored: a random id the game makes on your device (not linked to you, your device's hardware or any account), a board name, your best score and best combo for each day, each week and of all time, and a separate random id other players' games use if they report a name.
- The name: free players get an automatic name made of two words (like SWIFT-FALCON). Premium players can type their own; names are checked for offensive words, and other players can report a name, which puts it back to an automatic one.
- Where and how long: on Cloudflare's servers (Cloudflare D1), for as long as the leaderboards exist. Email us your name from the leaderboard screen and we'll delete your entries.
Brickbit Premium (in-app purchase)
Brickbit Premium is an optional one-time purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play); we never see your payment details. To confirm your purchase and let you restore it, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase service, which receives an anonymous app id made by the app and the store's purchase receipt. It is not linked to your name or email. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics or tracking. Leaderboard names are the only thing other players see.
- We don't sell or share any data.
- The game doesn't use your camera, microphone, contacts or location.
Children
Brickbit is suitable for everyone and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
Your progress on your device is deleted when you delete the app or clear its data. Transfer codes delete themselves after 7 days. If you'd like a code deleted sooner, email us the code and we'll remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
